Baptism is a significant and natural step for anyone who has come to faith in Jesus. In baptism, we symbolically leave behind our old life and rise to new life with Him.

Children’s Blessing
In City Church Torshavn we do not have infant baptism. However, we have a children’s blessing, where we as a church family stand together with parents and child and ask for a blessing over it. We see this in what Mary and Joseph did to Jesus. (Luke 2:21-40). And Jesus himself says not to forbid children, for the kingdom of God belongs to them. (Mark 10:15-16)

Youth Blessing
When teenagers enter 7th grade, they are invited to be part of a youth blessing. It will start in early January and meet once a week until Easter. Here the young people come to have lessons about what it means to start their journey to become adults. Each week a new topic will be covered. The youth blessing will end with a prayer and they will be blessed and blessed by the congregation. Contact us to get more information about this.
